Our Story

Heidi and Yan Hao met in primary school, where they were classmates for 6 years and even being deskmates for a year. Yan Hao doesn’t remember (or at least he denies remembering - sure, Yan Hao whatever you say!) but he confessed to Heidi that he has a crush on her when they were 11 years old! 

After finishing primary school, their lives took different paths, and they lost touch. In 2020 when Covid hit, Yan Hao and Heidi had to leave the USA and UK respectively to go back home to Kota Kinabalu. During this time, Yan Hao ‘slid into’ Heidi’s Instagram DMs after seeing her ‘complain’ about the power cuts after a storm in their hometown. 

If you know Yan Hao, what started with a simple and sarcastic ‘welcome home’ turned into a ‘lets meet up for a coffee'. The quick catchup eventually turned into spending months together during Malaysia’s nth lockdown. One thing led to another and during a 68-days trip to Europe and the USA, they decided to elope in Las Vegas on September 12 2022. 

They now call London home, with their baby, Toasty. What was first a coffee date to share their grievances about being kicked out leaving the UK and the USA, turned into an unexpected reconnection that kick started the rest of their lives together.
